The Food handler’s course, which was suppose to be held at the Guysborough Legion on Wed May 29th, has been cancelled due to lack of participants.
Floss Bottle Recycling has resumed their new posted hours (10am – 2:00pm) every Saturday at the club until further notice.
If you wish — as a volunteer — to assist CAS, the Club will gratefully accept whatever donations of proceeds from recyclables that are donated to the Club. Simply inform Wolfgang of your request and he will record your donation and pass on the moneys to CAS. If you chose not to donate, that is not a problem. We are pleased that you are utilizing the services that Floss Bottle Recyclables and CAS are offering to our community.
The Chedabucto CC is moving into its 50th year and a celebratory dinner is being planned for October 5, 2013. Since our Club is only able to accommodate 67 persons the Guysborough Intervale Community Hall has been reserved for the occasion. The dinner is being planned for October 5 because once we get into that month there will be much to do towards getting another great curling season launched — as well as more 50th year activities to plan. Stay tuned and keep an eye on the Club’s web site for more information as it materializes.
It’s lobster/ham dinner time and that means a special gathering at the curling club’s Boylston location. The fact that you are receiving this email indicates that you and your guest(s) are welcome to purchase a ticket(s).
It is vital when you order that you indicate lobster or ham and be clear what the person is to receive when placing your order(s).
The order(s) must be placed via Kay Chisholm, Secretary, by Wednesday, May 15th. Since the club has a capacity of 67 persons, it will be first-come-first-served so no gripping if you are tardy with your ordering. We plan to contact those who do not make use of computers but — please — also share this information with others.

Lobster size: 1 – 1.25 pounds
Meal: A fresh lobster or ham, salads, veggies, rolls, dessert, coffee, tea & whatever else we can arrange
Cost: Only $15.00 per meal
Happy hour 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Secretary Kay must be contacted by Wednesday May 15th so we can order the lobsters and get the supplies for the get-together.

Another volunteer food handler’s course is being offered at the Legion on Wednesday, May 29. The notice that is going to be in the Journal‘s Community Calendar for the next three Wednesdays is indicated below. It would be appreciated if you could also circulate this information. This session is open to all, regardless of Legion or curling affiliation.
Volunteer Food Handlers’ Course: The Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society (CAS) and the Royal Canadian Legion, Guysborough, are working together to present a “volunteer food hygiene training” course on Wednesday, May 29, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. There is a limit on available seats.
This free course — being presented by Nova Scotia Agriculture Food Safety and Enforcement and being conducted at the Royal Canadian Legion, Guysborough — is open to all.
The deadline to register is Friday, May 24. The participants’ names, organizations and phone numbers are to be submitted to either Ray Bates (533.2528) or Edith Walker (533.2098) by May 24. Be prepared to leave a phone message.
