Turkey shoot December 8….

Our annual Turkey Shoot is being planned for Friday, December 8, 7:00 PM at the Chedabucto Curling Club. With the ice being almost ready and the building nearing the stage where we can use it and appreciate all that has been done to make it fantastic, all are welcome to attend the Dec. 8th shoot.

Tickets will be $2:00 each or 3 for $5.00 with 32 rocks being available for each contest to be the winner of one of the 4 turkeys. The turkey shoot is open to all.

Along with membership registration, a general meeting necessary for this Thursday, November 30.

At Tuesday evening’s executive meeting the Club’s expansion/renovation costs were discussed. Due to the amounts of financial donations not being as we had anticipated, the Club will  be required to open a line of credit with the RBC so as to pay in full the Club’s outstanding debts.

One of the requirements stated by the RBC is that the Chedabucto Curling Club must place its facility as collateral as one of the bank’s requirements for a line of credit to be established. We must agree to do so by a resolution passed via a general meeting of our membership thus the need to have such a meeting this Thursday, November 30, at 6:30 PM at the Club

The only item on the agenda of this Thursday’s general meeting will be a discussion of the Chedabucto Curling Club’s debts regarding the ongoing renovation/expansion with the hope that permission will be granted for the curling club’s property to be used as the collateral for the establishment of a line of credit so as to complete the expansion/renovations of our facility.

The executive’s decision was to have this general meeting in conjunction with our registration on Thursday evening and to have the general meeting start at 6:30 PM so as to enable its need to be dealt with and then the balance of the time can be devoted to membership registration and open house.

Junior Curling to start on Sat. Dec 9th at 1pm until 3pm….

With the ongoing renovations being at the stage where we will be slightly later that anticipated getting the building suitable and the ice not being quite ready for curling, the executive decided at last evening’s executive meeting that the junior curling league would commence its season on Saturday, December 9, at 1:00 PM.

We apologize for the delay made necessary due to the tremendous improvements being made at the Club.

Ice prep update for Nov. 16th….

As of today Nov. 16th we will be starting to flood the ice surface. The technician was in today and is re-installing the 2 condenser motors in the roof area of the ice plant. He says the plant is ready to go. Myself and Maurice Landry will be flooding today. An email was sent out to possible volunteers to do additional flooding since George and I are otherwise occupied with word duties elsewhere. It usually takes a good 2 weeks to get the ice in and ready to play. I anticipate a Dec 4th startup date for league play. When the ice is ready for practice we will let you know. Also there will be an Open House/Registration night plus a weekend of ice for new curlers.
