Day League 2017_18

Our new season of curling will start soon. We are hoping to get the ice in and ready to go by Nov. 1st with leagues starting on Nov. 6th for Day and Nov. 7th for Night League.

Day League 2016/17

Day League curling starts this Thursday Nov. 3rd.  For newcomers the league operates on both Monday and Thursday with draws at 9:30 and 12:00. Here are the team lists and schedule for the 1st half.

The 1st half of the Day League is complete as of Jan. 12th. The page playoffs started on Friday Jan. 13th with the 1 vs 2 game and the 3 vs 4 game. Team Connolly beat Team DeCoff in the 1/2 game and advanced to the final on Tuesday Jan. 17th at 9:30am. Team Long lost to Team G. Jamieson in the 3/4 game. Team G. Jamieson played Team DeCoff on Monday Jan. 16th in the semi-final game. The winner on the final shot of the game was Team DeCoff. Team DeCoff played Team Connolly in the final and was victorious.

Day League 1st Half Champs are Team DeCoff: Lyle Reid, Muriel Guthro, Mia DeCoff, and Neil DeCoff.

The 2nd half of the Day League starts on Thursday Jan. 19th at 9:30am. Here are the team lists and schedule for the 2nd half.

Day League 2nd Half Champs are Team O’Regan with a win over Team MacDonald. Thanks go out for Ray Bates for filling in for Phil while he is away. Thanks to Don, Maurice and Maureen.

Highlander CC vs Chedabucto CC

On Jan. 25th 3 teams from the Highlander club came to our club to compete in the 1st half of the trophy series. Highlander is the defending champs. Seven games were played that day with the final results being Chedabucto CC with 79 pts and the Highlander CC with 67pts. The series resumes on Feb. 15th at the Highlander club. Six teams from our club will go over and play 2 games each. Here are some photos from the Jan. 25th day.

Our Day League curling teams played over at the Highlander CC on Feb 15th and played in 12 games. Teams representing are club were Team G. Jamieson (with Paul Long and Mary E. Connolly filling in for the Jamieson’s), Team O’Regan, Team J. Jamieson, Team MacDonald, Team Luddington, and Team Worth. Final count in the games were 7-4-1 for us. Not sure of the pt. total but enough to take back the trophy. I want to thank the Highlander club for their hospitality and food. Great day had by all. Here are som photos from the day:
