50_50 Draw 2017_18

Our final 50/50 draw was held on April 21st during the Memorial Bonspiel. And the winner was former member Peter Simpson with a total of $223.00. Drawing the ticket that night was Trent Brymer, son of member Blair Brymer.

My congratulations and thank you to Darlene Dort, Halifax, for being the March 25 winner of the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society’s (CAS) 50/50 draw.  Darlene bought her winning ticket — worth $320.00 — from either Jenna or Vanessa Dort, both junior curlers. Darlene’s ticket was drawn randomly by Junior curler Ryan Sangster.

So as to have a bigger prize, the next Chedabucto CC 50/50 draw will be at the end of the Skins Bonspiel, Sunday, March 25. As of Saturday, March 10, the prize is $175.00. With a couple more weeks to buy/to sell tickets, the next Chedabucto CC 50/50 winning should make someone smile. Tickets are available at the bar or from Junior curlers. Your support and participation to sell tickets is needed and appreciated.

Congratulations to Robert Bates, Bible Hill, for being the February 3 winner of the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society’s (CAS) 50/50 draw.  Robert bought his winning ticket — worth $131.50 from me — but — his name was drawn randomly from the ticket bucket by Gavin Dort (Not drawn me, thank goodness.)

Thank you to all who bought the CCC’s 50/50 tickets — and to those involved in their selling.

My thank you also goes to AA Munro Insurance, Antigonish, for sponsoring the pizza incentives to the junior curlers for their efforts to sell 50/50 tickets on behalf of the Chedabucto CC. The two pizza certificates drawn last Sunday at the Juniors’ session went to Vanessa Dort and Victoria Grady.

The Chedabucto Curling Club’s 50/50 tickets are now available. Tickets, at $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00, can be purchased from Club members, from Club Juniors or by stopping by the curling rink during its hours of operation. (The tickets are currently in a plastic container in the lounge and also with Club members.)

As has been done in previous years, if you want to purchase tickets and then enter each subsequent draw, simply give me your money and I’ll enter your tickets in appropriate future draws. The first draw from these tickets will be at the Edgar Sceles Memorial Bonspiel and that selection will be at the bonspiel’s awards closing ceremony on Saturday, January 20.

Best wishes.

Ray
