The Nova Scotia Curling Association, in partnership with Turning Point Curling, is pleased to announce a Youth Assessment & Development Camp from September 17 to 19 at the Halifax Curling Club. The camp is designed for junior curlers aged 14 to 20 in the ‘Train to Compete’ stage of LTAD and will have a 4:1 athlete to NCCP Coach ratio during on-ice instruction. Camp hours are: Friday 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm; Saturday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Through Support4Sport funding, we are able to keep the entry fee at $75 per athlete ($300 per team); maximum one registered team coach may attend for free. The registration fee also includes lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

NS Curling has the most up-to-date training equipment and technology. The Camp will provide sixteen (16) hours of on-ice and off-ice instruction, delivering athlete training and support in the following areas:

– Mental Skills Development
– Nutrition Education
– Team Dynamics
– Technical Skill Assessment of Delivery and Brushing
Mechanics
– Timing / Weight Control
– Strategy / Scoreboard Management
– Practice Drills
– Mini Games
As well, NS Curling High Performance Coach, Bruce Lohnes, will provide an overview of the upcoming NS Curling Canada Winter Games Playdowns. Special Guests Karlee Jones and Bryce Everist will deliver a session on Mixed Doubles, a new discipline in the CWG’s.
