Junior Curling 2016/17
This years Junior program is off and running. To date we have 15 registered and a new coach in Teagan Lombardo, a former Junior curler out of our club. Teagan has asked if there are any parent volunteers that could help her out from time to time. The Junior day of curling this season is on Saturday’s from 1pm until 3pm. We are also on the lookout for inter-club Junior games for some of our more experienced Junior players especially on the Saturday’s that our club needs for bonspiels. Here is a pic from last Saturday’s session with some of our Juniors in attendance.
We had our drawing today Mar. 4th/17 for pizza certificates that are awarded to our junior curlers for their efforts to sell 50/50 tickets on behalf of the rink. The happy winners of this week’s Big G’s Pizza and Restaurant certificates were (left) Tristan Kieley (Larry’s River), Calum Connolly (Guysborough Intervale), and Teagan Lombardo (coach).
Our Adult/Junior bonspiel was held today Mar. 25th at the club with about 8 of our Juniors plus their coach Teagan and 7 parents that formed four teams. They played a 3 end game and then took a break for pictures and gifts were presetned to Ray Bates and coach Teagan Lombardo (Happy Birthday girl). After break they switched it up and played another 3 ends. Then it was time for pizza from Big G’s Pizza. The pizza was provided by AA Munroe, Cross Roads Electrical and Big G’s. Thanks go out to these three business’s for paying for the pizza’s. Also thanks to AA Munroe for supplying pizza certificates to our Juniors who were selling our 50/50 tickets. Today’s winners were Victoria Grady and Brooklyn Jordan. Thank you Gavin Dort for drawing out the winning tickets. So another good Junior season has come to an end. Thanks to everyone that helped with snacks, ice prep etc…. Look forward to next year. Here are some pictures from today.
