Defibrillator demo at the club on Nov. 3rd…

There will be a demonstration on how to use our club defibrillator given by Leona Purcell and one of our paramedic’s. This will be held at the club on Monday Nov. 3rd at 7pm. If any of our members wish to know how to work one of these please make sure to mark this date on your calendar.

Port Hawkesbury Open Cashspiel….

Hi Folks,
Based on the temperatures the past two days, it’s hard to believe that another curling season is about to start.  We just wanted to let you know that the Strait Area Community Curling Club will once again be hosting our Open Cashspiel the weekend of Nov. 21st – 23rd.  We are excited to have a new title sponsor this year “Port Hawkesbury Paper”, and will again be offering a guarantee of $1,000.00 to the “A”Winner.  Our Spiel last year was a huge success and we anticipate filling the 16 Team draw again this year.  I have yet to send out any email correspondences and we already have 4 out of town teams and two club teams signed up, so I would encourage you to get your entries in early to ensure you save your spot.  Entries are still $200.00/team and will be taken on a first come first serve basis.  Please see the attached poster for further details.

The Executive have called for the Semi-AGM to be held this Wednesday, October 15, at the rink. The meeting will start at sharp 6:30 PM.

Secretary Kay has agreed for me to circulate the attached copy of the Semi-AGM’s agenda and also the minutes for the April 30, 2014, AGM.

Best wishes for your Thanksgiving weekend. Keep in mind that should you dine on a turkey over this weekend — it made the supreme sacrifice for your dining pleasures.
