CAS’s 50/50 draws are on the home stretch.  The next draw will be Friday, March 14th, with the final draw of this season planned for Saturday, March 29th, both at the rink.  We would love to complete this season with nice-sized draws to present to the lucky ticket holder(s).

A good time was had by all at yesterday’s Annual Juniors/Adults Funspiel.  Even thought there were the “occasional” shots missed by both juniors and adults, we had a grand time on Saturday.

With two juniors and two adults per team the pressure was on the adults to do as well as the youngsters. There were draws to the button, takeouts and perfect guards — all being delivered by the youngsters.  The adults — now and then — also made some decent shots. 🙂

Yesterday was made possible through the volunteerism of Club members and parents, the enthusiastic participation of juniors, plus generous sponsorship and support from businesses.

Sponsorship was received from Sceles Realty, Boylston/Antigonish with support for the Juniors’ draw prizes from Big G’s Pizza and Restaurant, Guysborough; Martin Marietta Materials, Mulgrave; and M&M Meat Shops, Antigonish.

Our Annual Junior / Adult Funspiel will be held at the Chedabucto CC rink, Boylston, on Saturday, March 8, with a four-ender in the morning and another four-ender in the early afternoon.  Teams will consist of two juniors and two adults with the intent to be for the juniors to be the skips and seconds.

The tentative draw times will be 10:30 AM and approximately 12:30 PM. While enabling the youngsters to have recreational fun, the curling games will also be introductions for most juniors to playing by the rules of matches.

A pizza lunch will be served at approximately 11:45 AM at no cost to the participants. There will also be no registration fees for the curlers — getting them onto the ice and introduced to the sport is Chedabucto CC’s goal.
