Skins Cash Bonspiel results…
Our annual Skins Cash Bonspiel was held this weekend. Six teams battled it out over 3 draws. Each game was worth $125. We would like thank our sponsors Scotia Hills Farm Inc., Ron Chisholm Hydroseed, and Antigonish General Trucking & Movers for their cash donation to the club. Also MLA Greg Morrow for his community support of our club for the bonspiel. Thanks also go out to our kitchen committee of Nancy, Paula, Kim, Marion, and Mary who kept us fed on Saturday, our ice prep team of Phil, George, Byron, Fred, Ryan, Collie, and Joe, and our bar staff led by Maurice and Mary. Finally thanks to Breanne, Byron, Donna and Blair for getting the bonspiel set up. Now as for the games every team managed to win money. Two teams finished with identical 3-0 records, Team Sangster and Team O’Connor but Team Sangster had more money so Team Sangster with skip Ryan Sangster, mate Leona Purcell, second Collie Purcell and lead Jason Thorpe won $255 and the trophy. Team O’Connor with skip David O’Connor, mate Gary Neufeld, second Gavn Dort, and lead Speary Neufeld won $239 (Team O’Connor was unavailable for pictures. A picture taken on Tues of next week). In third place was Team Brymer with skip Blair Brymer, mate Amy Leigh George, second Breanne Chisholm, and lead Francis Brymer with a 2-1 record and $237.
