Update on MODG Capital Grant Extension to Chedabucto CC
On January 13, 2014, the Municipality of the District of Guysborough’s Committee of the Whole approved the Club’s request to have the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society’s (CAS’s) grant from the MODG (initially approved in 2011) extended from April 2014 to March 31, 2016. The before-referenced grant — for a total of
$119,700.00 — is slightly less than 1/3 of the cost for the replacement of the Club’s lounge.
CAS is very appreciative of the MODG’s belief in the need and the importance of the Club’s existence and its expansion goal. The MODG’s ongoing support for CAS’s facilities and all that it provides to our communities is an extremely critical plank in the overall success of CAS acquiring the other necessary sources of funding from the Government of Nova Scotia , the Government of Canada, supportive businesses, generous donors and via CAS’s numerous fund-raising endeavours.
Our combined challenge remains to acquire the overall funding to complete the Club’s expansion challenge as the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society moves onward into its 51st year — and beyond.
Best regards to all,
Ray

If you wish to purchase or to sell tickets: contact a club member, come to the club, or buy tickets at Cutting Loose Hair Design & Tanning, Cook’s Gas Bar & Robin’s, Days Gone By Bakery & Restaurant, Gerard Hart’s Grocery Store, Guysborough Discount & Gifts or Guysborough Pharmacy. CAS sincerely thanks the before-mentioned businesses for their continued support. (The businesses’ sold-tickets are collected on Fridays.)
