Congratulations to Diane Tulk, Guysborough , for being the February 21st winner of the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society’s (CAS) 50/50 draw.  Diane’s ticket was drawn from a well-shaken container by a guest at the rink and it was her name for a second win; her first being on January 17. 🙂   Diane bought her winning ticket — worth $180.00 — from Junior curler Aidan Halloran.  (Thank you to all who bought 50/50 tickets — and to those involved in their selling.)

CAS randomly draws its winning 50/50 ticket on Saturdays but — with the intention to have richer prizes — will occasionally be doing the selection after some weeks of selling. Our next 50/50 draw is tentatively planned for March 14 at our Ladies St. Patrick’s FUNspiel. Team Sangster is off to a good start at the NS Senior Provincial Curling Championships in Shelburne, NS. He sits tied for 1st place at 2 win and o losses. Check out the website for live updates at http://www.livecurling.com/index.php?option=com_jumi&fileid=13&b_id=236&team=3750

Today we had our awarding of Big G’s large pizzas to two of our Junior curlers for their successes with the selling of the rink’s 50/50 tickets. The pizzas are being donated to Chedabucto’s Junior League by AA Munro Insurance, Antigonish.  The Junior to receive a large pizza for selling the most tickets was Aidan Halloran.  The Junior to receive the second pizza via the random draw involving all the other Juniors who today submitted money and tickets was Cody Carter. My advance thanks goes to the Juniors, their parents, families, neighbours and friends who assisted with the selling of the 50/50 tickets — and also to AA Munro Insurance for making our awarding of pizzas possible. Our next 50/50 draw will be this Saturday, February 21.

Both of our competitive teams are in action at the end of this month. First up is Team Sangster in the NS Provincial Senior Curling Championships, Feb 20th-24th/2015 in Shelburne, NS.
