On Wednesday, March 25, we had our season-closing awarding of Big G’s large pizzas to five of our Junior curlers for their successes with the selling of the rink’s 50/50 tickets. The extra certificates were awarded due to earlier storm-caused curling cancellations and also to the fact that we had many curlers away to last week’s school’s stage-performance auditions. All 50/50 certificate pizzas were donated to Chedabucto’s Junior League by AA Munro Insurance, Antigonish. AA Munro Insurance’s much appreciated generosity and assistance definitely served as an ongoing incentive to encourage the Juniors to sell their 50/50 tickets. The Junior to receive a large pizza on Wednesday for selling the most tickets was Victoria Grady. The Juniors to receive the pizzas via the random draws involving all the other Juniors who submitted money and tickets were CJ Carter, Ava Worth, Cody Carter and Aidan Halloran. My thanks goes to the Juniors, their parents, families, neighbours and friends who assisted with the selling of the 50/50 tickets — and also to AA Munro Insurance for making our awarding of pizzas possible. This was the final 50/50 draw of this season with the rink shutting down the next week until winter returns.
