Yearly Archives: 2024

Registration for curling – Tuesday October 15 – 6:30 to 8:30

It is that time of the year again – a bit of a chill in the air, leaves changing colour. It must mean curling will soon be starting. Hurray!!

We expect the ice to be in and leagues starting play November 4th and 5th.- but I’ll leave it to those in charge of the ice making and leagues to provide the details. When they put out the call for helpers, please don’t be shy. The old adage ‘many hands make light work” applies here and every bit helps.

On the administration side, your participation and cooperation also make the start of the season go much smoother. Our league managers have been making calls to get an idea of numbers so they’ll be ready with teams and draws to start right away in November. Attached are the Adult Registration Form and the Waiver which we need completed every year. We’re hoping to see lots of folks on Tuesday for registration in person. If you can’t print out the attachments, we will have plenty of copies on hand at the club. Payment is by e-transfer, cheque, or cash (exact change please). (New fibre-optic connection will make those e-transfers from the club much easier.)

In order to be included in the leagues, your registration form, waiver, and membership fees need to be received before getting on the ice. If you can’t make it on Tuesday, an email copy of the completed form and e-transfer of payment will work.

One of the parts of the registration form that we want to highlight this year is the Volunteer Commitment choice. The success of the club – good ice, fun leagues, well-run bonspiels, a clean club house, social events, sponsorship recruitment – all depends on volunteers. There are no paid staff so everything that gets done, however big or small, is thanks to our club members. Everyone can help with something and we need help from all members – so please indicate your preference on the form.

Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday.

The 2024-2025 curling season is fast approaching….

The 2024-2025 curling season is fast approaching, and registration is open!!
You can register at any time (contact information on photos), or join us at our Registration Night on October 15th from 6:30-8:30 at the club!
We have many opportunities to get involved in the club, whether you’re new to the sport or have prior experience. For a one-time annual member fee, you can curl in either the day league, night league, or both! If you don’t want to commit full-time, you can also spare in either league.✨
Don’t have a broom or curling shoes? No problem—the club provides brooms and slip-on sliders! All you need are warm clothes and clean shoes!
Our club also hosts bonspiels, funspiels, and social events with live entertainment throughout the season. Be sure to follow our Facebook page and check out our website for dates! https://www.chedabuctocc.ca/proposed-bonspiel-dates-for… You can also contact Maurice Landry, President, for more information on the club at 902-533-4068 or mmp.landry@ns.sympatico.ca
