The Highland Heart’s centre section for November 28th is covering the Chedabucto Curling Club…

This week’s publication of The Highland Heart Weekly‘s centre section will feature a lengthy write up with four photos about the Chedabucto Curling Club’s evolution and CAS’s renovation goals.   The Highland Heart Weekly will arrive at its region-wide distribution locations on Friday, November 28th.  To get your free edition before “they fly off the shelves” you will need to be “quick on the grab”. Cheers 🙂

Results of the Turkey shoot are….

Last night we held our annual Turkey Shoot. The weather did not detour people from showing although the numbers were a bit a lower than last year. Fun was had by all. Winners of the turkeys last night were Marie McMaster, Mary K. Connolly and Nancy O’Regan. All the rocks were bought which was nice for the club. We also held our 1st 50/50 draw last night with Marg Halloran winning the cash prize. Prize amount was in access of $150.00.

Defibrillator demonstration at Chedabucto CC….

A demonstration regarding the efficient use of the rink’s defibrillator (AED) has been arranged for this Monday, November 17, 7:00 PM, at the curling rink.  All skips — both day and night leagues — are requested to make the contacts to ensure that their team has at least one — but more if possible — representative(s) at the demo so all teams will have a potential AED user. (If you know of non-members who would also like to partake in this demo, please invite them to attend.) This is one of those situations where we truly hope that the AED never needs to be used but reality is reality; with our curlers being of such varying ages we don’t know when someone might need such assistance for a heart problem.  Let’s be ready just in case. Paramedic Craig Jamieson, thanks to the efforts of Leona Purcell, has volunteered to come to the rink to conduct the demo.  Several years ago we had a similar demo; however, a review for our self-confidence regarding the AED’s proper use is needed.
