Our annual Maritime & Northeast Pipeline Skins Cash Bonspiel is happening this year on Mar. 5-7, 2021. We welcome back our major sponsor, Maritime & Northeast Pipeline along with two of our new sponsors from last year, Mulgrave Machine Works and Scotia Diesel. We are still waiting to hear back from our 3rd new one from last year. With Covid protocols still in place we cannot allow out of club curlers even if they live in the Guysborough and surrounding area. Registered curlers must be either members of the club who are curling in any of the 3 leagues we offer or a spare who has curled in any of the three leagues at least once. The sign-up sheet and poster below are now at the club. You will note that the structure of the teams will be picked randomly by the skips on Thurs. Mar. 4th. Therefore the sign-up sheet is for individuals to place their name, phone # and preferred positions (1st and 2nd choice). Early registration final date is Feb. 26th. The fee will be $30 per player if signed up by that date. Otherwise the fee will be $35 and the final date is Mar. 3rd to sign up. Which teams play for the final money will depend on the amount of teams entered. As of now the games will be all 8 end games with a minimum of 3 games per team. Playoffs will be on Sunday Mar. 7th. Meals will decided in the final week leading up to the spiel. As of now spectators are allowed in to watch games.

Our annual MacLeod Lorway Ladies Valentine’s FUNspiel was held this weekend. A total of 6 teams took part. A Big thank you to our major sponsor, MacLeod Lorway, who help our club with organizing this bonspiel. Other sponsors who helped us out with prize donations were Guysborough PharmaChoice, Cutting Loose Hair Design, Mary K Cosmetics, RBC, Rose’s Garden of Gifts, Cove Quilting, MODG, and O’Regan Projects. We would also like to thank MLA Lloyd Hines who donated $$ for advertising at the event. Thanks to all who helped out doing the ice, bar and kitchen duties. After a 3 game per team schedule Team Jamieson came out on top with Team Connolly in 2nd and Team MacDonald in 3rd. Congrats to all. We had a couple of other prize winners; one for not making the far Hogline won by Jenna Dort and one for Closest to the Pin won by Alison Billard.
