Our annual MacLeod Lorway Ladies Valentines FUNspiel is now complete. Six teams took to the ice on Friday night for three draws and completed the day on Saturday with 6 more draws. In the end Team George, skipped by Amy Lea George, won all three of her games to finish in 1st place. In second place was Team Jamieson, skipped by Evelyne Jamieson with a 2-1 record. Third place went to Team Kennedy, skipped by Jillian Kennedy. Their record was 1-1-1. A good time was had by all. We gave away some hand knitted toques, donated by Nancy O’Regan, to the ‘Draw to the Button’ winners. 1st Place was Kay Chisholm who was right on the button. Second place was Evelyne Jamieson who was 5″ from the pin. A huge thank you goes out to Jen MacLeod at MacLeod Lorway Insurance who annually support our club with a gracious donation. Without their help bonspiels like this just don’t happen. Thanks again. We would also like to thank the guys, Phil, Gary, Colin, Fred, Grant, and Maurice, who helped feed the ladies all day and kept them from getting thirsty. The same goes for the ice prep team of Phil, Gary, and Colin that kept the ice in tip top shape. Food donations from members was greatly appreciated. Finally thanks goes to Annmarie Pelley who entertained us on Saturday night to finish it off. Next up is the Skins Cash spiel on Feb. 28-Mar. 1.
