Juniors League curlers hang up their brushes until November 2014….

Even though the Juniors curling season got off to a shaky start, it definitely became a good year. To have 12 youngsters form Chedabucto CC’s Junior League and to complement that with two teams of Chedabucto CC’s Juniors placing second and third in the NS School Athletic Federation Regional Championship are all commendable achievements.

The Juniors’ successful curling season is due to the dedication of the youngsters (and parents), the direction of the coaches (Shawna Cody & Joe Jamieson), the other volunteers who pitched in to assist, the businesses who supported our events, Mr. Long, Principal CEC, and the Strait Regional School Board for enabling the buses to transport the kids to the rink. (I hope nobody was overlooked.)

As this season concludes the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society (CAS) is already making plans for next year’s Junior League curling season.

The tentative plans are to get the ice ready for the first of November with the youngsters on the ice early in that month.

If you know of youngsters who might be interested in becoming involved in the Junior League — spread the good words.

The ice will be melting in a week or two but there will be things happening.  Please keep in touch with www.chedabuctocc.ca to get CAS’s updates.

To those youngsters who partook in the 2013/2014 season: WELL DONE!

Best regards to all.
