Community support and members’ involvement are vital to all
volunteer-run organizations. The Chedabucto Curling Club (CCC) expresses
its sincere thank you to all of the attendees at its annual chicken BBQ
held on July 21 at its Boylston location. The CCC is also grateful to
the donors of the stick-pick prizes and those who purchased sticks; the
BBQ chicken cookers and purchasers; and those who gave of their
volunteer time to make the day’s events enjoyable. To those who
purchased duckie race tickets, your support enabled the race to be a
fun-filled event. This year’s fastest plastic ducks belonged to the
following: Max Tulk, Guysborough, first place ($500.00); Gloria Avery,
Larry’s River, second place ($200.00) and Kenny O’Leary, Queensport,
third place ($100.00).
For those who were unable to attend today’s curling club BBQ, you missed
a good feed. The curling Chefs again demonstrated their cooking
expertise: (front left clockwise) Jim Muise, Phil O’Regan, Brian
MacDonald ( head cooker), Chris West, Don Armstrong and George Luddington.
Face painting for the youngsters (and those young-at-heart) is a yearly
part of the Chedabucto Curling Club’s (CCC) chicken BBQ. Wanting to show
his steadfast loyalty to the Toronto Maple Leaf , Phil O’Regan (left)
has Meagan Kettley (right), under the watchful eye of Deonna King (both
from the MODG Recreation Department) apply her artwork at the CCC’s July 21 annual event.
