The following were taken from a notice of Resolution mailed to me as CAS President from MLA Lloyd Hines on behalf of those named within this email and that form has been subsequently delivered by me to the curling rink: “As part of the daily routine of the Nova Scotia House of Assembly, MLA Hines was permitted to introduce two Resolutions each day by moving them in the House. He also tabled additional Resolutions by filing them with the Clerk.” “A Resolution can recognize and pay tribute to a person, business, volunteer, event or community leader — often somebody who resides with the MLA’s constituency.” The following curlers were recognized for their participation and winning status within the February 7th Skins Bonspiel: Winners of Division A: Iris Stanley, Krista MacEachern, Shauna Brymer and Paula Dobson. Division B winners: Paul Connolly, Kerstin Hanke, Donalda Mattie and Mary K. Connolly. “THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that all members of the House of Assembly recognize all of these remarkable curlers and send a a congratulation to all of you lucky winners.” If any have questions you may direct them to MLA Lloyd at his Chedabucto Centre office location (902.533.2280). Our annual Duckie Race & Chicken BBQ for 2015 will be on Sunday July 19th during the 1st weekend of Come Home Week. More details to follow in the coming weeks.

At last evening’s AGM the following were nominated and approved as the Executive of the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society (CAS) for 2015-2016:

President: Ray Bates

Vice-President: Phil O’Regan

Secretary: Kay Chisholm

Treasurer: Holly Nahrebecky

Executive-At-Large: Lois MacDonald

Immediate-Past-President: Paula Dobson remains in that position

On behalf of all CAS members I want to extend my sincere thanks to those who have consented to serve on our Executive. Equally important, on behalf of all CAS members I extend my sincere gratitude to out-going Executive-At-Large Brian Farrell, who, after seven years of serving on the CAS Executive has decided to step back from his very active participation but will remain involved in the many acts of volunteerism that he performs for CAS.

The CAS By-laws allow for one more executive member to be elected; that position is Brian’s vacated position as an executive-member-at-large.

If you know of a CAS member who you would like to nominate, please confirm with that individual and then submit his/her name to Secretary Kay Chisholm to enable her to present that nomination to the CAS Executive.

Agenda Annual General Meeting May 4 2015

As per our By-laws: “The Annual Meeting shall be held on or before the 2nd Saturday in May at the Club premises.”

The CAS Executive have approved that this Monday, May 4, @ 6:30 PM, the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society’s (CAS) AGM will be held at the curling rink.

The agenda will consist of, unless additional items pertaining to Club business are added from the attending members, of a submitted financial report, a President’s Report and the submission of this year’s Nomination Committee’s recommendations for the CAS Executive for the 2015 – 2016 year.

A good representation of members is always appreciated.  The AGM must have a quorum of seven (7) CAS members for its AGM to be conducted.
