At last Wednesday’s semi-AGM it was passed that the following dues would be effective for the 2013/2014 season:

League play $205.00 total (tax is included) Was $201.25.
Junior League $70.00 total (tax included) Was $69.00
Associate member $25.00 (tax included) No current fee recorded
Family membership (as defined October 9, 2012) $405.00 (tax included) was $402.50

The former dues were confusing therefore the Executive’s recommendation was to round up to the nearest multiple of 5.

It was also passed that the curling year be divided equally with a 10/10 weeks curling season cycle versus last year’s 8/12 weeks cycle.

Re: membership: Please attempt to get new members by asking your friends, neighbours and chatting with former members to help increase our members’ numbers.

Minutes Annual General Meeting April 29, 2013

Greetings,

October has arrived thus it is time for the Club’s Semi-AGM.  If history holds true, and I expect it will, the Semi-AGM will be less than an hour in length.

So as to encourage more possible discussion and keep all abreast of what is happening I have sent this notice to all members and our many supporters.  My intention is to invite all who wish to attend to be present at the Club for its semi-annual general meeting on October 9 at 6:30 PM (the day after the election).

There are several motions such as the Club’s dues that need to be voted upon thus non-members will be unable to vote.

We are heading into a critical year for Chedabucto therefore a good turnout is hoped for and definitely encouraged.  Please make a maximum effort to attend.

If you would, for those who do not use a computer therefore not receiving this message, please inform them of our meeting and the attachments

50th Anniversary dinner: At last Tuesday’s Executive meeting the decision was made to postpone the Club’s 50th Anniversary dinner from October 5 until later into the curling year.

Semi-Annual AGM: The Club’s Semi-Annual General Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, at the Club for 6:30 PM. The agenda will be circulated later in September.

Stick delivery Instructions: The Nova Scotia Stick Delivery Champions, Ron Crowe and Bill Spinney, from the Truro CC, will be conducting a daytime workshop at Chedabucto CC in November for Club members. More details will follow at a later date.

New members: It may be August but the Club’s executive is planning for the 2013 – 2014 curling season.  Your immediate contribution can be to start thinking of friends, neighbours or acquaintances who you believe would like to become Club members. If you know former members who have “drifted away” from Chedabucto CC, please give them a polite nudge to rejoin the flock. We are aiming to commence this year’s curling in early November.

Juniors: If you know of youngsters who would like to curl we will be working with Mr. Long, Principal, to promote curling as a very affordable and enjoyable sport where the only equipment necessary are clean sneakers and warm clothing. All curling equipment is provided by the Club at no direct cost to the members.
