CAS 50/50 draw re-scheduled for next Saturday, January 17

So as to enable the prize to grow, the CAS 50/50 draw has been re-scheduled for next Saturday, January 17.

If you wish to purchase or to sell tickets: contact a club member, come to the curling rink, or buy tickets at Cutting Loose Hair Design & Tanning, Guysborough Pharmacy, Hart’s Grocery Store, Cook’s Gas Bar & Robin’s, Chedabucto Home Hardware or Guysborough Discount & Gifts. CAS sincerely thanks the before-mentioned businesses for their continued support. (The businesses’ sold tickets are collected on Saturdays.) You can refer to the curling rink’s website for updates on draws and the names of its winners: http://www.chedabuctocc.ca/5050-draw

Best regards

Welcome to our newest Social Member: Cindy Malcolm

It is my pleasure to welcome Cindy Malcolm as the Club’s newest Social Member.  Cindy frequently is on the warm side of the glass enjoying the curling games and is a welcomed addition to all the happenings at the rink. Welcome aboard Cindy.

Social members are described within the following excerpt from the CAS by-laws:  “Clause 2 – Membership (B)            6.         Social Members shall be persons 19 years of age or older subject to regular approval provisions who may attend the Club activities.  Social members shall not have voting or curling privileges.”

Today’s Council Meeting…..

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

At least 24 attended today’s MODG Council to demonstrate their support for Chedabucto CC and Canso CC’s application for additional funding from our MODG Council. Your presence and support was truly appreciated.

A big THANK YOU also to Mary LeBlanc, Secretary Canso Curling rink, for her participation in today’s presentation.  I feel strongly that without the participation of the Canso rink today’s request would not have had the same impact on Council.

For those who were unable to attend, a motion was put and passed that our request for funding go to the appropriate MODG committee for a recommendation back to Council as it plans its next year’s budget.  We should hear something back in April after the MODG budget for the next year is approved.

Thanks to all.  GOOD CURLING! 🙂
