Ladies Valentines FUNspiel Cancelled

Good morning.

Due to the impending storm, that darn cold/flu combination that has hit our curlers and not getting the number of teams to justify having a funspiel this weekend, the 2015 Ladies Valentine Funspiel is cancelled(Skips, please notify your teams.) To all of our members who had volunteered to work and/or to supply food and to those who had planned to curl this weekend for the 2015 Valentines Funspiel: THANK YOU! With much appreciation for the generosity of the MacLeod Lorway Group / Guysborough Insurance to sponsor the Ladies Valentines Funspiel, we are now planning to have another bonspiel on March 14th. It appears that all other weekends between now and March 14 are unavailable. More details will follow.

Cheers

Ray

Ladies Valentines Funspiel would LOVE to have more curlers…..

The organization for this weekend’s Ladies Valentines Funspiel is moving along very smoothly. The teams and individual ladies are signing up but we would LOVE to have more.  Spread the word to both curlers and non-curlers that this annual fun-intended event is next weekend.  The  men are being recruited to look after the commands to come our way.  A turkey supper is planned for Saturday as part of the ladies’ registration fees thus their dinners are free to them.  With the guys in the kitchen — the pleasure will be ours to serve. This Annual Valentines Funspiel is again being sponsored by the generosity of the MacLeod Lorway Group / Guysborough Insurance. Prizes are being collected from supporters with the first-place team receiving a dinner at DesBarres Manor courtesy of M.P. Rodger Cuzner — to happen this July. The other LOVELY prizes will be distributed via random draws so all ladies will have the luck-of-the-draws going their way. Please make the contacts, spread the word and recruit, recruit and then recruit some more; the more the merrier. If we are going to plan for a good time, let’s fill the rink and have a right some darn LOVELY TIME!

Cheers — with hugs and kisses to the Ladies. 🙂

Winner of Chedabucto CC February 7, 2015 50/50 draw…..

Congratulations to Kenny O’Leary, Queensport , for being the February 7 winner of the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society’s (CAS) 50/50 draw.  Kenny bought his winning ticket — worth $250.00 — at the curling rink.  (Thank you to all who bought 50/50 tickets — and to those involved in their selling.)

If you wish to purchase or to sell tickets: contact a club member, come to the curling rink, or buy tickets at Cutting Loose Hair Design & Tanning, Guysborough Pharmacy, Cook’s Gas Bar & Robin’s, Hart’s Grocery Store,  Chedabucto Home Hardware, Guysborough Discount & Gifts, or at Days Gone By Bakery & Restaurant. CAS sincerely thanks the before-mentioned businesses for their continued support. (The businesses’ sold-tickets are collected on Saturdays.)

CAS draws its winning 50/50 ticket on Saturdays but — with the intention to have richer prizes — will occasionally be doing the selection after some weeks of selling. Our next 50/50 draw is tentatively planned for February 21st. You can refer to the curling rink’s website for updates on draws and the names of winners. http://www.chedabuctocc.ca/5050-draw

Best regards
