The Chedabucto Curling Club is hosting an Open House to invite members, former members, financial contributors and the community-at-large to come and view the expansion/renovations done to the curling rink’s 6 Reddy’s Hill, Boylston, location.
Refreshments and tours will be ongoing from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 22.
The Chedabucto CC has been a vital member of the community since its beginning in 1963 due to the generosity and dedicated efforts of many volunteers and support from many organizations, businesses and governmental departments.
The expansion/renovation have been made possible due to the financial assistance from Club members, community supporters and a generous contribution from the Municipality of the District of Guysborough.
Gordon Pyle’s funeral reception / Memorial Bonspiel / No stand-alone closing dinner…
This Saturday, after Gordon’s funeral, his funeral’s reception will be held at the Chedabucto CC. We are honoured that Holly has requested that it be the Club to host her Dad’s, our friend’s, reception within the facility that is so grateful for all Gordon has done for the curling club and especially for Gordon having donated the land on which the Chedabucto CC is located. (Thank you Gordon. Rest in peace.)
The executive has approved the Club’s Memorial Spiel, April 20 and 21— this year in addition to being in memory of Gordon Pyle — to be when the curling club’s leagues’ awards will be presented in lieu of doing those presentations at a later-date closing dinner. Therefore, there will be no stand-alone dinner this curling season for the Chedabucto CC. The Memorial Bonspiel’s meals — being served as part of the curlers’ inclusive registration fees — will be the concluding meal of this very, very eventful 2017/2018 curling season.

Memorial bonspiel dates moved due to the passing of Gordon Pyle….
At today’s executive meeting it was decided that the Memorial Bonspiel will be rescheduled to the weekend of April 20/21 due to the death of Gordon Pyle. Gordon, a true friend and supporter of the Chedabucto Curling Club, passed away yesterday.
The land on which the curling rink is located was donated to the Chedabucto CC by Gordon. We will always be grateful to Gordon for that generosity and the many other things he did for the Chedabucto CC.
To Holly and Ernie and their families I pass on my most sincere condolence for the loss of their Dad.
