Congratulations to Denise Halloran, Guysborough, for being the February 13 winner of the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society’s (CAS) 50/50 draw.  Denise bought her winning ticket — worth $415.00 — from her son Aidan, a member of our Junior Curlers Program.  (Thank you to all who bought 50/50 tickets — and to those involved in their selling.)

At the conclusion of today’s session there was the usual “hot shoot” draws to the button for chocolate bars as rewards for the closest girl’s and boy’s rock to the pin. The winners of the bars were Emily Casey (16.5 “) and Ryan Casey (55”). Congratulations to Emily and Ryan.

As always — parents are invited to attend to watch the youngsters’ instructions.

Also today we had our awarding of pizzas to two of our Junior curlers for their successes with the selling of the rink’s 50/50 tickets. The pizzas are being donated to Chedabucto’s Junior League by AA Munro Insurance, Antigonish.  AA Munro Insurance’s much appreciated generosity and assistance is definitely serving as an incentive to encourage the Juniors to sell their 50/50 tickets. Today’s Juniors to receive a Big G’ large pizza for selling the tickets were Jenna Dort and Ryan Casey. With the pizza draws back on schedule the next selections for certificates will be in two weeks, February 24th (weather permitting). My thanks goes to the Juniors, their parents, families, and friends who assisted with the selling of the 50/50 tickets — and also to AA Munro Insurance for making our awarding of pizzas possible. With the goal of having an even larger win for our next draw, that 50/50 draw will be held this Saturday, February 13, at Chedabucto’s Valentine’s Ladies FUNspiel.

Thus far we are in the neighbourhood of $240.00 for the curling rink’s 50/50 draw this weekend at the Ladies Valentine’s Funspiel. With more days to sell/to buy we are hopeful that we will surpass the $350.00 prize that was our previous draw.
