Chedabucto CC members and guests,

This is your reminder that with this Monday being the conclusion of day curling until the new year we are having our annual Christmas pot luck at lunch time (approximately 12:15 PM with no afternoon game).

Members are asked to volunteer to bring something to add to the lunch selection. Since it is pot luck we are not doing specific requests — bring whatever you are able.

If you are chatting with any former members please invite them to also attend this special gathering. The truth being, if not for their input over the past, we might not have the privilege of being able to enjoy all that our rink has to offer.

If there are night-league curlers able to attend, come on down — the more the merrier. Besides, with Neil leading us in our carol sing, we can always use more voices.

Should you have the opportunity to bump into Chedabucto CC members or former members please share this invitation since not all have the use of a computer. It would be great to have them join us.

If you are unable to attend, I will use this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing participation and support and also to wish you a very merry Christmas with health and happiness in 2016.

There will be no curling tonight due to the nasty weather conditions out there. Games will be made up at a later date.

Next Saturday, December 19th, 7 PM, we will be drawing for the next 50/50 winner. That will conclude the draws before Christmas with the first draw in 2016 to happen at the Edgar Sceles Memorial Bonspiel being planned for January 15/16, 2016.

You will be impressed when you enter the curling rink. Cross Road Electrical (Paul Connolly) has completed the lighting replacements/upgrades in the ice area, lounge, kitchen and bar. The additional four pot lights in the lounge were completed last month.

The money for this project is part of the 50 cent dollars we obtained via our ACOA grant with the other portion of the grant having gone to pay towards the entire attic’s insulation improvements. The rink is accountable for the balance of those 50 cent dollars. Our next-to-the-final $5,000.00 payment for the dehumidifier is also due in January 2016 and then the final payment goes out in January 2017.

Thank you Paul for the lighting recommendations and completing the installations to enable us to enjoy the much-improved lighting throughout the curling season. Now I can’t use the excuse that I could not see the broom for my missed shots . 🙂
