Guysborough Players group at the curling club.

In 2013 Kate Tompkins brought her artistic talents to Eastern Nova Scotia through her formation of The Guysborough Players. Since then Tompkins and her fellow volunteer actors have performed their musicals to audiences in Guysborough, Mulgrave, Charlos Cove, Liscomb and Port Hawkesbury. Some of original members of The Guysborough Players have moved on but its present performers continue to demonstrate their love of music and providing entertainment to audiences. The performers bring their joy of theatre to each performance and also contribute more than their stage times with other theatrical necessities such as costume designs, set preparations and nutritional needs.

The Guysborough Players most recent packed-house performances, held on three separate evenings (May 24, 25 & 26) at the Chedabucto Curling Club, Boylston, was entitled Sister Act. In addition to thanking the 152 patrons who attended, The Guysborough Players also thank the Guysborough Pharmacy for its Sister Act ticket sales, the Chedabucto Curling Club members who assisted on site and the volunteers who rehearsed and worked so diligently to create another successful production. With the 12-months cycle already in the works for their next performance’s preparation, Tompkins welcomes inquiries about The Guysborough Players at katetompkins@eastlink.ca .
