Registration forms for 2013/14….

Please excuse me for being a pest but the 2013/2014 registration sheets must be completed. If you have completed your sheet this plea doesn’t apply to you.

The sheets for 2012/2013 are invalid because they were for a past year and they have been removed from the emergency information binder thus the Club does  not know your relevant instructions and information. I am confident that with the Club’s liabilities we need current information and dated signatures to make things valid and accurate.

The registration information serves many purposes in addition to giving the Club a level of legal protection:

Your medical info in case the  unthinkable happens.

Your updated contact info so we can keep you informed re what is happening Your birth date for Club demographics to assist with grant requests Your opportunity to volunteer for committee work or not Your dated signature to give the Club permission to publish your picture for news coverage if the opportunity presents itself.  The privacy act requires your consent.

The 2013/2014  registration sheets are in the manilla envelope pinned to the wall by the door to Ice 1.  Please complete yours immediately and put it into the emergency binder on top of the Club’s kitchen fridge.

Thanks

Ray

DeCoste Bottle Exchange still in our region

Decoste Bottle Exchange, Tracadie, will be located at the Guysborough Legion’s parking lot effective Saturday, December 14. DeCoste’s hours of operation will be on Saturdays from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. It is our hope that DeCoste’s collection services to this region will be utilized by many. If however you prefer to take your recyclables to the DeCoste Bottle Exchange depot, it are located at 9550 Tracadie.
Bottle donations to the Chedabucto CC are not required — but will be truly appreciated. The volunteered donations to Chedabucto CC are another means via which the Club raises funds for its many operational expenses. Dues alone will never cover all of Chedabucto CC’s costs.
If people wish to donate the proceeds of their bottle sales to Chedabucto CC please inform Ellsworth DeCoste, or his representative, of
those wishes for your donated amount to be recorded and for that notation to be signed by the donor. When Chedabucto CC gets the donated moneys at months’ ends we receive copies of the donated receipts to enable us to thanks the donors.

50/50 draw December 20 and Quality Street Chocolate Shoot….

So as to increase the winnings for the next 50/50 draw the Club will hold that winning ticket’s selection on Friday, December 20th, at 8:00 PM. Since the Club will be open for the 50/50 draw the plan is to have another relaxing event that will generate entertainment and socialization from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

After much positive feedback from last week’s turkey shoot, on December 20, the Club will host a “Quality Street Chocolate Shoot”. The Club has purchased 4 large tins of Quality Street chocolates as the prizes for the 4 shoots. The actual target will be a frozen turkey since it has bounce and slide-ability. The closest stone to the bird will be the winner of a big tin of yummy chocolates. People can shoot via sliding or stick delivery — whatever works.

At the end of the evening’s shoots the name of a shooter will be drawn from a hat and that lucky person gets the turkey.  The turkey will bean extra prize that’s symbolic of the Club’s spirit of Christmas. Four tins and five prizes — ya gotta luv it!

Of course guests are always welcome.  If the members agree we can consider also adding the names of guests into the hat as complementary entrants.

Please spread the word regarding the 50/50 and the 4 chocolate shoots. A great turnout — besides being appreciated — provides encouraging support to the volunteers who make such gatherings happen.
