Out of respect for two members of our curling community we have decided to cancel all Day League games on Thursday Nov. 12th so that members can attend both funerals. Chedabucto Curling Club wishes to pass on our condolences to the Fisher and O’Connor families. May they rest in peace.

The 2nd annual Nova Scotia Club Challenge Championship is to be held on March 5 at the Mayflower CC.  It is a Ryder Cup-style competition for club-level curlers to determine the champion curling club in Nova Scotia for the year.

Attached is complete event information and a poster I was hoping could be put up in your club. Participants in the Travellers playdowns may have a particular interest in the event.

The date for the Juniors start up will be November 25th with the registration fee being a total of only $25.00 per youngster. (The cheque can be made out to CAS.)

This Wednesday, November 4, will not work for too many reasons. The next Wed is November 11th, Remembrance Day, and no school bus. The following Wednesday, the 18th, has me in Halifax for an appointment and Donalda is out out the province on that date.

The encouraging news is that there are things in the works that we did not do last year that are guaranteed to give the Juniors an enjoyable season. Once those events are finalized we’ll send out the information.

We want to get the Juniors off to a good start thus it is better to be a tad later than force things to commence too early. I know we’re all are keen to start and I am truly sorry for the delays.

Teams and schedule for the Night League have been made. We are waiting until later on tonight to contact the skips. They will contact you with your 1st game date. Still in need of two players to complete the 8 teams we have. Until then Phil’s team and George’s will start the season with 3 players and get a spare each week until someone surfaces. If you know of anyone out there that may want to play we are looking for 2 leads or a second and a lead. Those players who requested a certain day to play on I have done my best to accommodate that request. Looks like our schedule this year is for 19 games with 2 and half weeks set aside for playoffs. All teams make the playoffs. Format to be decided later. Every team plays each other at least twice and no more than four times. On Sunday we will email everyone a schedule and team list. There will also be copies at the club next week.
