These playoffs are a Page playoff format with the top four teams playing to get to the A final and the bottom four teams playing to get to the B final. The first night of playoffs is now Wednesday night the 23rd with 1st vs 2nd and 5th vs 6th. As of now Blair’s team is in 1st place with 31pts and will play on Wed. night vs the 2nd place team. Cecil Boyd Trophy results are in…

The Cecil Boyd Trophy games between the Canso CC and Chedabucto CC have been restarted with games this past weekend at both clubs. On Saturday Mar. 19th Canso sent three teams to our club for two draws. Lots of close games were played with Chedabucto coming away on the winning side in all four games. Next up was a trip down the road to the Canso CC on Sunday Mar. 20th for three draws and five games. Canso came away with three wins on their home ice and Chedabucto grabbing the other two. A lot of laughs and fun was had by both clubs. In the end the Chedabucto CC came away with the trophy, which was last won by Canso back in 1993. So as you can see it has been a long time coming. Also Team Casey from the Canso club was the top team in pts with 48. This will now be an annual affair with the hope of having more teams involved. A big thank you goes out to Susan-Brian O’Handley from the Canso club who was a big help in getting this revived and for providing a lot of these pictures. And for Phil O’Regan who helped coordinate it on our end. Thanks also for all the volunteers who helped with ice at both places and for providing food and drink for everyone.

Congratulations to Blair Pellerin, Larry’s River, for being the March 19 winner of the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society’s (CAS) 50/50 draw.  Blair bought his winning ticket — worth $225.00 — at Haliburton’s Guysborough Pharmacy. (Thank you to all who bought our 50/50 tickets — and to those involved in their selling.)

The  date for the next 50/50 draw will on April 2 at our Season-Closing Memorial Bonspiel.

If you wish to purchase or sell tickets: contact a club member, purchase them from a Junior curler, come to the curling rink, or buy tickets at Cutting Loose Hair Design & Tanning, Guysborough Pharmacy, Cook’s Gas Bar & Robin’s, Chedabucto Home Hardware, Guysborough Discount & Gifts, or at Days Gone By Bakery & Restaurant.
