Wednesday March 25 will be concluding day for Junior Curling and submission day for all 50/50 tickets — sold or not
Since next Wednesday, March 25, is this season’s concluding Junior League Curling day, all 50/50 tickets — sold or not — must be returned to the rink. The final 50/50 draw for this curling season will be Saturday, March 29, at Chedabucto CC’s Memorial Bonspiel — weather permitting. If you can’t be at the rink please advise me so we can arrange an alternative for the tickets’ submission. Because of school cancellations there are five (5) large pizzas still remaining to be awarded to the 50/50 tickets sellers. Those five (5) certificates will be awarded to Juniors next Wednesday — weather permitting.
Enjoy your almost-spring day. 🙂

The amount to help Wayne with his expenses…..
It is amazing what people will do to demonstrate their pride and support for another.  Last night (Mar. 17th) Chedabucto CC Treasurer Holly presented Wayne Sangster with all the money raised through the Chedabucto CC to assist him with his out-of-pocket expenses as he heads to Edmonton to represent Nova Scotia, our region and Chedabucto CC in the Canadian Men’s Senior Curling Championship.
It is with a tremendous amount of pride — on behalf of all the people who assisted Wayne through straight donations via the rink or by the purchases of Chedabucto CC’s draw tickets for the Men’s World’s tickets in Halifax — for me to announce that earlier this evening Treasurer Holly presented Wayne with the grand total of $1033.90 as was raised for him via Chedabucto CC over only 10 days.
With my most sincere appreciation I thank Wayne’s supporters.

Send off for Wayne Sangster…./St. Patrick’s Day….
Wayne has confirmed that he will be at the rink tonight at 6:45 PM for us to present him with a cheque that the club is giving him from money collected over the past week and a photo-op with his NS team jacket that he is picking up today. If anyone, who is not curling tonight, wants to come on by and wish him good luck and maybe raise a glass or two to celebrate not only his participation in the Canadian Senior Championships in Edmonton later this week but also St. Patrick’s Day, please do so….
Chedabucto CC historical postmark now available….
So as to inform the world via Canada Post that Chedabucto CC produces elite curlers, the Chedabucto CC historical postmark has been re-established at the Boylston Post Office. If you mail through Boylston, please request that the rink’s stamp cancellation be used. See photos below.

Donalda Mattie (left), coach of the Chedabucto Curling Club’s 2004 Junior Women Canadian Curling Champions: Team Mouzar, and Ray Bates, President, Chedabucto Curling Club, proudly display a letter bearing its commemorative Canada Post postmark cancellation stamp as applied by Boylston’s Post Master Brenda Hall (centre).

The pictorial postmark, believed to be the only such cancellation stamp existing in Canada, was originally obtained by the efforts of retired Post Master Carmen Barron but the stamp’s use fell to the wayside over the past decade. Through the effort of current Boylston Post Master Brenda Hall a revised stamp was obtained to continue to acknowledge that Canadian curling achievement and also to recognize a rural curling rink’s potential to produce elite curlers.
