Club Updates

Ducky race tickets / BBQ / stick draw prizes…..

We are into the final week before next Sunday’s (the 24th) chicken BBQ, ducky race and stick draw at the curling club.

This message is for those who have yet to submit their sold ducky-race tickets and/or stick-draw prizes. If you have — thank you. If not, please continue to read.

If you have yet to turn in your sold ducky-race tickets, please do so this week so the numbers can be recorded before the hectic time on Sunday. You may leave your sold tickets and money with any of our executive members and we will get them to Kay for her recording or you can give yours directly to Kay.

With the stick-draw prizes, we are hopeful that each member will donate at least two prizes worth $5.00 or greater. The prizes can be whatever you believe would be something someone would be pleased to win. If you know of a business that might donate promotional items of suitable value, please ask.

Prizes are being left with me or other executive members — thank you for that. If you have yet to deliver your prizes please do so by Wednesday so we can get them numbered as per the sticks’ numbers.

With last year’s sell out of the BBQ chicken, please do not wait until the last to get your chicken. Advanced paid orders may be made via Phil O’Regan or Lois MacDonald.

Next Sunday is our biggest fund-raiser of the year with many hands making it an annual success.

Thank you all.

Ray

Ducky race tickets are on the move / stick draw prizes…..

The executive received the ducky race tickets last week at their meeting and are distributing them to the Club’s Adult and Junior members. If you have yet to receive yours, they are on the way. We want the tickets (money) turned in by July 17 to enable the sold ducks to be recorded prior to race day. You may give your tickets to me or to another executive member (Kay included) so we can give them to Kay for the recording of sold tickets. Please leave the staples in the sold ducky-race tickets. It makes it simpler — and easier — to record numbers on the large wall charts with staples are left intact.

The chicken BBQ and ducky race — both at the rink’s property on Sunday, July 24, are the biggest fund-raiser that the Club does throughout the entire year therefore your anticipated support is sincerely appreciated.

The stick draws also happen on July 24 thus please contribute to the prizes’ numbers. If you have not been contacted — you will be. What the executive is hoping for is members (and friends if they wish to assist) to donate items valued at $5.00 or more for the prizes. If someone prefers to make a monetary donation we will also gladly accept.

Prizes may be left with me, another executive member or with Bette Ann Corkum (our stick draw coordinator).

Larger prizes are attractive at the stick-draw table to entice participants therefore if you, or you know of someone or a business who would be willing to donate — please ask. Most businesses tend to have promotional items to distribute thus asking for something where you spend your dollars could be helpful.

Any questions, give me a shout.

Cheers

Ray

Chedabucto CC needs your support for the stick draws and Ducky race….

Adult and Junior Members plus Supporters,

Plans are being made for the Chedabucto Curling stick draw at our annual ducky race / chicken BBQ — our yearly MAJOR FUNDRAISER — being held on Sunday, July 24. We need all members to step forth and assist. Our supporters are also encouraged to pitch in if possible. (The ducky race tickets are in the process of being printed and will be ready for sale by early June. The beginning of the ducky race is tide dependent.) As you spring clean, or receive gifts that you are willing to donate (valued $5.00 or more) — or if you are able to collect donated promotional products from the places where you do business — or discover great items on sale — please keep prizes in mind for our annual stick draws.  Monetary donations are also encouraged if the providing of prizes is not possible. We also need “larger-valued prizes” to attract more people to purchase sticks. If you are able to donate or know of someone (a business) who might provide larger-valued prizes, we would be pleased to acknowledge the donated item(s). Adult and Junior members will be contacted by our rink’s executive members for prize donation(s).

Contact me (902.533.2528) or Phil (902.533.2539) to arrange for prizes pickup.

Thanks. Ray
