It is my pleasure to welcome Max and Diane Tulk as new Associate (Social) members in the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society (CAS). Max and Diane are ongoing supporters of the Chedabucto CC and will definitely bring their contributions to the Club’s activities.

Should you know of others who might consider joining CAS under its Associate membership classification, please invite them to apply. The dues for Social membership is only $25.00 (tax included) per year.

Associate (Social) members are described within the following excerpt from our CAS by-laws:

Clause 2 – Membership(B)  6. Associate (Social)  Members shall be persons 19 years of age or older subject to regular approval provisions who may attend the Club activities. Associate (Social) members shall not have voting or curling privileges.

With the Chedabucto CC 50/50 tickets getting into circulation over the past week and with Paulette no longer with us for the Petro-Canada sales — and all the other things that she was so quick to volunteer — the decision has been made to have the first 50/50 drawing on Friday, November 29, at the Club for 8:00 PM.  The intent is to gather an attractive pot to give to the 50/50 winner.

Also on the night of the 29th a Turkey Shot is being organized so as to give those in attendance some recreation, a chance to win a turkey or two and to enable even more 50/50 tickets to be sold. Details re the Turkey Shoot will be coming as things are finalized.

The sold 50/50 tickets will be  gathered from the business locations on each Friday afternoon as was previously stated so moneys don’t accumulate until the 29th drawing.

On Saturday, November 16th, the Club will be offering stick-delivery workshops from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon and then repeat the session from 1:30 PM until 3:30 PM. Both identical sessions will happen at the Chedabucto CC.
The instructors will be Ron Crowe and Bill Spinney from Truro CC. These skilled stick-delivery curlers are the Nova Scotia Stick-Delivery Champions for 2012 – 2013.
The cost is free for all Chedabucto CC members and $10.00 for non-members but priority to participate will be given to Chedabucto CC members. Each of the two sessions will be for 8-10 participants. Other interested individuals will be placed on a supplementary list for any available spaces.
The delivery sticks will be made available from Chedabucto CC. All participants need will be the usual warm clothes and clean sneakers. If you know of anyone who might be interested please spread the good news.
Names of participants will be received effective immediately until next Friday morning 9:00 AM on a first-come first-served basis. Contact Ray Bates at 533-2528 with your preferred Saturday session — 10:00 AM or 1:30 PM — ASAP.

The Club is having the 50/50 draws again this season and the tickets are now available to all.  The drawings will still be on Friday nights in the Club at 8:00 PM.  Sincere thanks go to Shauna Brymer for getting the tickets made for the Club.

The 50/50 draws have been developed into a major fundraiser for the Chedabucto Curling Club Community Activity Society (CAS)’s many financial needs therefore we ask for support to sell the tickets.
