Congratulations and thanks to two outstanding Chedabucto CC members…..

Two of the Chedabucto Curling Club’s members deserve this thankful recognition. Last weekend George Luddington and Phil O’Regan volunteered their time — spread over the entire week and involving many hours — to assist with the ice preparation for the world-class curlers at the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling — Elite 10, in Port Hawkesbury.

Their experiences, training and efforts will definitely benefit all users of the Chedabucto Curling Club since George and Phil are two of the Chedabucto CC’s main ice makers. (Today George and Phil were at the Chedabucto CC flooding our ice to prepare it for the home stretch of this curling season.)

George and Phil were honoured — due to their contributions to the Grand Slam’s ice preparation — to be invited to assist with the 2018 Grand Slam in Truro to again contribute their ice-making abilities to that high calibre curling event.

On behalf of all members and curlers at the Chedabucto Curling Club — I thank George and Phil for their hours of curling volunteerism and thoughtful labours that enables all of us to enjoy our curling games.

Best regards

Ray

Home-stretch to sell curling rink’s 50/50 tickets….

The curling rink’s 50/50 tickets have been restocked for the home-stretch of this curling season. If all of us assist to buy and also to sell tickets, this season’s concluding cash prize should make someone smile big time. 🙂

The concluding draw will be on April 2 at the conclusion of the Exxon/Mobil Skins Bonspiel. For those who have purchased tickets from me in advance, your final tickets will be placed into the April 2 draw.

Tickets ($2 each or 3 for $5) are available from all curling rink members or at the rink.

Your assistance with this vital support to the Chedabucto Curling rink will be sincerely appreciated.

Best regards,

Ray

Chedabucto Curling Club Juniors 50/50 pizza certificates March 4 2017….

We had our drawing today for pizza certificates that are awarded to our junior curlers for their efforts to sell 50/50 tickets on behalf of the rink. The Chedabucto Curling Club Junior League curlers were recently rewarded for selling 50/50 tickets by having their names entered into a draw for pizza certificates that were donated by AA Munro Insurance, Antigonish.

The Chedabucto Junior curlers also acknowledge assistance from the Municipality of the District of Guysborough Recreation Department. The happy winners of this week’s Big G’s Pizza and Restaurant certificates were (left) Tristan Kieley (Larry’s River), Calum Connolly (Guysborough Intervale), and Teagan Lombardo (coach).
